“It’s Alive!” BBOXX Solar Activates in Luanda

It’s alive! The first SMART solar system in Southern Africa

I landed in Luanda on Sunday to set up BBOXX’s first solar shop in Angola, with a generous grant from superstar rock climber Alex Honnold’s foundation.

The sample I brought from Rwanda has been making its way through the city – and has started connecting to BBOXX’s SMART Solar system.  Our engineers 6800km away in London can now see exactly when I’m charging my phone or demoing the unit – or switch it off if they get tired of my emails.  It’s a new milestone for renewable energy: the first SMART solar system in Southern Africa!

Looking forward to 50 more connecting in the coming days.

Congrats! What a difference sustainable/renewable lighting will make for the children’s health and learning. BBOXX is making a generational impact through its work. Keep it going!
