African Women Do It All (as represented by Calvin & Hobbes)

This seems about par for the course for Uganda!  And just in case you’re in doubt, some stats to back it up (courtesy of Solar Sister):

In Uganda, women are responsible for

  • 80% of food production
  • 60% of planting
  • 70% of weeding
  • 60% of harvesting
  • 90% of processing & preparation…
  • and have access and ownership of only 8% of the land and production facilities.
